Hawk softball busy on the field

It was a busy week on the softball diamond for Colman-Egan as they participated in four games in four days.
The season begins to wind down now.
The Hawks have a season record of 7-11 record.
Monday they were to host the Dakota Valley Conference Tournament and were seeded number 2.
Wednesday, they are to host Sioux Valley and then Thursday, travel to Alexandria to face Hanson County to close out the regular season.
If qualify, SoDak 16 play starts May 27.

SALEM The Hawks won 14-2 in five innings over MCMs junior varsity team but then lost 18-7 against the varsity.
In game one, Brianne Bowen was 3-for-4 at the plate hitting a three bagger and two singles. Harper Mousel had a lone double and Kinley Geigle had three singles. The Hawks combined for 12 hits for their 14 runs. The Fighting Cougars JV squad only made two hits, both doubles
Chloe Schmidt was the winning pitcher. She struck out seven.
In the other game, it was MCM who was hot at the plate with 15 hits and 10 walks enroute to the 18-7 win.
Colman-Egan had nine hits and only walked three times. Maebe Groos belted out a triple and Schmidt had a double. Kaitlyn Taggart was 3-for-3 in the batters box, all singles.
Mousel took the lost from the mound giving up all 18 runs off the 15 hits.

Madison
COLMAN Madison had the hot bat jumping out to a 5-0 first inning lead extending it to 12-2 in the second. They added seven runs in the top half of the fourth inning to win 19-2 over the Hawks on May 13.
Colman-Egan struggled at the plate with only three hits. Sarah Voelker led with a double.
From the circle, Schmidt surrendered all 19 runs and 17 hits by the Bulldogs. She struck out three and walked 11 Bulldogs.

Viborg-Hurley
VIBORG No stats were available, but the Hawk ladies lost 14-4 on Monday, May 12.
