National Day of Prayer planned in Moody County

The 2025 National Day of Prayer is set for Thursday, May 1, at 12 noon at the Veterans Memorial near the Moody County Courthouse. Area residents are invited to join millions of other Americans who will gather this day to glorify God and to observe the National Day of Prayer. This day is set aside for unified public prayer for America.
The theme for 2025 is Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled. It is based on the scripture from Romans 15:13 which states: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
NDP was established in 1952, and in 1988 the first Thursday in Maywas designated as the day set aside for America to pray. All through history, America has turned to God in times of conflict and in times of peace. Americans come together in unity to recognize our need for God. Each year a proclamation is brought forth from the President declaring this day as a day of prayer for our nation.
An observance will be held on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, along with other gatherings in all 50 states, seeking Gods hand on America.
At our observance in Moody County, your friends and neighbors will offer up prayers for media, leaders in government, our military, our churches, families, and education, among others.
Everyone is invited to gather on May 1 at noon to join in this time of praying for America. A local group of volunteers plans and organizes the event for our area.
