Some Moody County 4-H rodeo youth braved the cold this past weekend for the Ty Tuff Goat Tying Clinic at the county fairgrounds. Those who worked to sharpen their skills ahead of the 2025 rodeo season are front, Dace Benson, Charlie Benson, Hattie Stofferahn, Huck Rollag, and August Stofferahn. Back, Rehme Wilking, Quinn Hemmer, Madelyn Klein, Instructor Kayla Spickelmier, Anya Hemmer, Ellie Stofferahn, Blair Ellefson, Audrey Smith and Krue Lutter. Not pictured are Terryn Klein, Cami Wolles and Olive Eggers.
Goat tying is all about speed, agility, and precision contestants sprint from their horses, tackle a (very surprised) goat, and secure its legs in record time. Its intense, and judging by the smiles and dusty boots, this crew had a blast learning from one of the best. Next years clinic is already in the works, for more information, contact Andrea Hemmer as spots fill up fast.
No kidding around
