C-Es upset bid comes up short against Faulkton

FAULKTON The Colman-Egan Hawks made things interesting but they couldnt upset the second-seeded Faulkton Area Trojans, falling 28-20 on Thursday night.
The Trojans took an early lead when Landon Coyle scored on a 28-yard touchdown run but they missed the two-point conversion to lead 6-0. The Hawks seized momentum from there as Jase Mousel scored a 28-yard touchdown reception followed by a Jack Mousel run for a two-point conversion and a five-yard rushing touchdown by Jase Mousel to take a 14-6 lead.
Drake Muellers five-yard touchdown reception and a two-point conversion run by Coyle tied the game at 14-14, however, and Coyles 23-yard touchdown reception from Gian DiMaria gave the Trojans a 20-14 lead after a failed two-point conversion.
Jase Mousel tied the game on a five-yard touchdown reception from Jack Mousel but Tristen Baloun finished the game with a one-yard touchdown run for the final score.
Hayden Pearson led C-E with 19 carries for 45 yards. Jack Mousel also had seven carries for 31 yards while completing 8-of-19 passes for 146 yards.
Jackson Zwart caught two passes for 55 yards while Jase Mousel caught four passes for 73 yards.
Pearson also led the way defensively with nine tackles and a sack. Jase Mousel had seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Clayton Bohlman and Carson Voelker each had four tackles and a sack for the Hawks. Sutton Bunde had eight tackles. Preston Meyer had two tackles and a sack. Jack Mousel had five and Jackson Zwart had four tackles.
Coyle led Faulkton with 20 carries for 118 yards. Baloun also had 16 carries for 92 yards. DiMaria completed 5-of-7 passes for 39 yards.
The Hawks finished the season with a 5-5 record.
Seniors playing their final game in a Colman-Egan uniform were Sutton Bunde, Jack Mousel, Jase Mousel, Alex Ustanko, Carson Voelker and Jackson Zwart.
