Girls second; boys seventh at Baltic Invite

BALTIC – Baltic won the boys division and Deubrook Area the girls, at the Baltic Invitational held on a windy and cold May 5. The Bulldogs scored 145 adn the Lady Dolphins 144.
The Hawk girls were second at 106 with St. Mary’s third at 94.
Following Baltic boys was St. Mary’s and Elkton-Lake Benton tieing at 121, Garretson with 86, Deubrook Area with 75 and Chester with 68. Colman-Egan’s boys were a distance seventh scoring 37 points.
There were nine teams participating in the meet.
Crystal Silva-Dominguez and Jolie Flatten were triple winners for the Lady Hawks.
Individually, Flatten sped to a 12.47 in the 100 meter dash and Silva-Dominguez won the 200 at 26.19. Both Hawks were half of the two winning relays along with Finley Luze and Quinn Meyer in the 4×100 (52.42), and Luze and Anya Hemmer in the 4×200 (1:49.31).
Hemmer also took fourth in the 300 meter hurdles at 52.92 and was sixth in the 100 meter hurdles at 19:16.
The girls medley relay team of Michoen Williamson, Caelee LeBrun, Josie Pederson and Landrie Hahn came in third (5:27.09). And in the distance relay of 4×800 meters, Harper Ruhlman, Pederson, Hahn and Lee finished fourth at 12:01.61.
In the field, Williamson won the shot put with a toss of 36’5’5” and came in fourth with a throw of 101’ 7.5” in the discus. Meyer jumped 5’2” for first inthe high jump, threw the javelin 100’ 4.5” for second and long jumped to 14’11” to place third. Luze’s javelin throw was good enough for sixth at 86’11”.
For the boys team, the top finish came from the 4×100 relay team of Hayden Pearson, Landen McManus, Mikano Lee and Rowdy Bowen with their time clocked at 45.66 for second place. Pearson also placed well with a fourth place finish , 11.38, in the 100 meter dash.
Cruz Luze was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles 46.32 and McManus was fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.70.
Logan Claflin jumped 5’7” in the high jump to place third.
The 4×800 relay team of Colter Brown, Owen LeBrun, Brendyn McManus and McCoy Bowen – all seventh graders – placed fifth at 10:56.24. The 4×400 relay team was sixth in a time of 3:54.36. Teammates were Dalin Billmeier, Luze, Zach Pederson and Bowen.
