Flyers sneak by Hawks

CHESTER – Most likely it was the third quarter that doomed the Hawks in a 59-56 Chester win on Monday, Feb. 2.
The teams were tight at the half with the Hawks holding the lead 32-26 but then the Flyer put in 25 points to 16 from the Hawks. The final quarter was even at eight points each.
The Hawks outshot the Flyers 42.6 to 39.6 percent. Colman-Egan hit 23 of 54 basket attempts while the Flyers were 21 of 53 but Chester made more three point shots and free throws.
Colman-Egan won off the boards 34 to 29 with Westyn Pearson making eight rebounds and Caden Zwart, seven.
Both teams had three players each scoring in double digits. Zwart had the hot hand with 26 points for Colman-Egan followed up by Julian Allen with 15 and Logan Claflin with 10. Allen aided the scoring with three assists.
Chester was led by 24 points from Jaxton Opdahl, 15 from JD Prorock and 11 from Carter Vogel.
