Huskies stop Fliers on field

ELK POINT The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies proved why they are top ranked in Class B football, with a 42-14 win over Flandreau ending the Fliers season at 2-7 in the first round of the playoffs.
Several seniors ended their high school career that night including quarterback Xavier Bien who passed for 92 yards and was 6-of-21 on the night with a touchdown. He also was intercepted once.
Receivers were Kody Kneebone with 65 yards including a 35 yard catch that led to his four yard touchdown reception. He caught four passes on Friday evening.
Tucker Hemmer also had two receptions for 27 yards.
On the ground, Justin Klein bulled his way through the Husky defense for 78 yards on 15 carries including a two yard touchdown. Hemmer had three carries for 15 yards.
The Flier defensive effort was led by Kneebone with seven tackles, Klein and Hemmer with five each, Tate Hammer with four tackles and a defended pass play and Emmett Skroch with three tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery.
Seniors closing out their high school football career are Bien, Teague Bergjord, Grayson Fox, Kaden Iott, Elijah Johnson, Klein, Kneebone, Willian Lone Bear, Andrew Martinez, Alex Poitra, Skroch and Laban White.
