CLEAR LAKE Offensively, the Flandreau Fliers got the ball moving last Friday against Deuel with 290 yards, but couldnt get the win in a 26-14 loss to the Cardinals.
Justin Klein had a big night with a total of 125 yards on the ground (16 carries), a touchdown and three receptions for 42 yards including another touchdown. He also made 10 tackles on the night.
From the quarterback position, Xavier Bien connected on 8-of-17 in passing with the scoring toss.
Also on offense, Alex Poitra carried the ball 10 times for 23 yards, Tucker Hemmer and Kody Kneebone caught two passes for 56 and 26 yards respectively and Trevor Peters got 18 yards from his lone reception.
Following Klein on defense were Kneebone, Hemmer and Tate Hammer with eight tackles each.
This week is homecoming and the Fliers will entertain McCook Central/Montrose at 7 pm Friday at Tiger McGlone Field. The Flier Booster Club will hold a Tailgating Party prior with food vendor and Flier items to purchase. Booster Club memberships will also be available to purchase.
