Place seven at Kingsbury Co. Invite

PIERRE Tenley Quick competed in the Pierre Governors Girls Invitational and began the day with a fall but then lost two straight. The tourney held Friday, January 24.
She pinned Macee McGregor of Webster, but then lost by fall to Essah Syverson of Custer and Paesyn Wilson of Bennett County to fall out of the placing rounds.
Coach Cody Chamblin said that Quick fought through an injury but finished the tourney.
She will continue to improve and heal and only has a couple more meets before Regions, said Chamblin. Quick is currently ranked honorable mention in the girls 107 pound division.

ARLINGTON Seven of ten Fliers wrestled their way into the placing rounds at the Kingsbury County Invite on Saturday, January 25.
The invite is mostly Class B schools with two Class A teams and a Minnesota school.
The Fliers were eighth as a team scoring 114.5 points. Kingsbury County won their own invite with 238.5 points, Canby, MN was second 173.5 and Sioux Falls Washington third at 167.5.
Three Fliers worked their way through the brackets to earn a spot in championship matches, but all three took a loss. Their coach still saw some positives on the day.
At 120 lbs., Teague Bergjord to Eli Greeman of Canby, Minnesota.
He had a great day of some really good matches, noted Chamblin.
Wrestling at 126, Zach Pederson lost to Cody Zell of Kingsbury County.
He just keeps a hard-nosed grind on his opponents, said Chamblin.
Karter Headrick lost to the number one Class Bs 215# Camden Murray of Redfield.
Headrick is closing the gaps with these kids and wrestling more technical matches.
Four other Fliers were in placing matches.
Justin Klein had another impressive day, said Chamblin. His only loss was to Gabriel Stern, Class A #3 ranked in the semis. In the the third-fourth place match he decisioned Zander Eidem of Sioux Falls Washington.
Justin is putting matches together and having opponents fear him with his strength.
At 190 pounds, Rhyder Behnke, wrestled Marshall Holz of Kingsbury County and took fifth place by major decision.
Rhyder, for a first-year kid, has really been stepping it up and has caught on to the sport. He ended up getting 5th place and has really been making big strides overall.
Emisael Bonilla, also wrestling at 126, took sixth with a final round loss to Noah Scepaniak of Groton Area. (Bonilla was wrestling unattached therefore his scoring points didnt count towards Flandreaus team totals.)
Freshman Gabe Frias faced Ty Delbridge of Brookings for fifth place in 132 pounds where was decisioned to finish in sixth.
With an open week until Saturday, Chamblin said his team will be hitting practice hard as the season begins to wind down.
Saturdays tournament in Wagner is a really tough tournament that well be looking to get some big wins. These wins would help us in regional seeding, concluded Chamblin.
