Time Capsule open and ready for viewing

The Moody County Veteran Memorial time capsule, which was opened during the Memorial Day Services in May, is now on display, ready and open for viewing at the Moody County Courthouse on the first floor. Bart Sample and his family cleaned all the dog tags that were deposited in the capsule when the Veterans Memorial was built in 1989. Now, anyone wishing to have their dog tags added to the time capsule can drop them off with the Veteran Service Officer.
No date has been set to reseal the current dog tags and any others brought in. County Commissioners are currently discussing a date in October. All the dog tags from 1989 are available for viewing in the Veteran Service Office, located next to the treasurers office on the first floor.
