DELL RAPIDS– Moody County schools will send four golfers to the South Dakota High School Activities Association’s State Class B Golf Meets next week.
State rounds will be played in Brookings. Girls will be at Edgebrook Golf Course and the boys at Brookings Country Club. First tee-off is 9 a.m. both days, June 1 and 2.

In the Region 3B meet, freshman Hunter Bushkofsky swung to a tie with Brock Frederickson of Viborg-Hurley and after a playoff hole, the Flier had to settle for second place. They both fired four over 75 at the end of regulation. Bushkofsky carded a par 35 in the first round and then was four over with a 40 in the second round.
Flandreau Indian School’s Kaden Burshiem also will attend his final boys meet after placing seventh shooting a 79, shooting a 39 the first round and 40 the second.
Garretson won the team title at 237 and V-H was second with a 242. The Flier team, which also included Bryson LeBrun and Jett Ramsdell, placed 10th with a 283.
Ramsdell was a few strokes shy of attending his first state meet as a seventh grader.
Colman-Egan’s young golf team did not place well enough to qualify for state. Golfers at regions were Holdyn Rentschler and Landon Preheim.

On the girls side, senior Madison Bushkofsky, the lone Flier female golfer, will golf in her final State event as she carded a 91 for fifth place at Regions. She shot rounds of 43 and 48.
Colman-Egan’s Mauryn LeBrun will also golf at Brookings after taking 11th place with her round of 98. She turned rounds of 49 each.
Other C-E regional golfers were Paityn Heiter, Aspen Clark and Laney Hanson.
Dell Rapids St. Mary won the girl title with a 262 and Chester was second at 277. Jadyn McDonald of Chester was the medalist.
