Peggy M. Houselog, 56, of Lake Benton, MN, formerly of Elkton, SD, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler, MN.

Peg was born July 30, 1961 in Flandreau, SD, to Roger and Darlene (Otto) Bauer. She went to school in Elkton, SD. She had several jobs which she enjoyed with her last one being at Twin City Fan in Elkton where she enjoyed her fellow co-workers and made many wonderful friendships. She was blessed with having two children Kim and Heath. Peg loved being around family, her grandchildren, hosting family gatherings and loved her coffee go-ers. She enjoyed keeping up with her soap operas and helping other residents at the nursing home. She had a sense of humor that many people enjoyed. She left a very large impression on people in a short amount of time when being somewhere. In 2007 she suffered a massive stroke which left her speechless and paralyzed. She was very much admired for her strength, patience and courage over the past 10 years. Peg was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children: Kim (Mike) Bloom of Tyler, MN and Heath (Brittany) Houselog of Lake Benton, MN; three brothers: Jim (Tammie) Bauer; Tim (Toni) Bauer; Dave (Kristina) Bauer; one sister: Kathy (Steve) Kopecky all of Elkton, SD; grandchildren Jacob, Adam, Benjamin, Abigail, Merrick, Malahna, and Macrae; niece and nephews. Peg is preceded by her father Roger, mother Darlene, and sister Joan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Elkton, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elkton. There will be a 5 pm Prayer Service followed by visitation on Wednesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
