Many of us know these women because we grew up with them or see them regularly around the community. But how much do we really know about their stories, their backgrounds and the roles military service has played in their lives and families?
The Moody County Museum will host “Women in the Military” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. Marietta Gassman, Bridget Flannery and the family of Leah Ehrichs will share their stories, memories and perspectives on military service and involvement.
The event offers a meaningful opportunity to spend time with these local women and their families while learning more about experiences we may not otherwise hear.
The program is part of the museum’s participation in Blue Star Museums, a national appreciation program honoring military members and their families. Admission to the Moody County Museum is free.
