Even the sweltering heat of Thursday couldn’t stop the Flandreau City Band and those who came to listen last week. Many people were out in chairs, on benches or in their vehicles to listen to one of the few remaining concerts to be held this summer at the band shell in eastern Flandreau. Guest Director was Amy Weight. Here she leads the volunteer band members in another lively musical number. Watch for the band to appear during the Moody County Fair Parade on Thursday, July 30 followed by a concert on the fairgrounds. But you still have time to enjoy the band at the band shell this summer. The final two performances will take place on August 6 and August 13 at the band shell between far East Pipestone and Second Avenues before the members put their instruments away for the year until dusting them off for summer 2027.
