Flandreau’s Cardinals took a win and a loss last week in games at home and on the road.
They won over Salem at home on Tuesday, July 7 and then lost to the Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks on Sunday evening.
Next up, Cardinals will host H/H Gamecocks, Thursday at 7:30 p.m., before wrapping up the Corn Belt League schedule on Sunday at Baltic. July 19 the Cardinals will start District 4B play in Humboldt.
Cardinals 9, Salem 4
FLANDREAU – The Cardinals were never threatened in a 9-4 win over Salem’s Cubs on July 7th.
Keith Cutler was perfect at the plate batting 4 for 4 all singles and earned two RBI and Austin Koenig chalked up a three RBI home run.
Jacob Patterson also continued his hot hitting streak batting 3 for 3 including a home run and a double and earning two RBI.
The Cardinals gathered 13 hits over nine innings.
Earning the win was Bret Severtson hurling eight innings. He allowed two runs off eight hits, stranded eight Cubs at the plate, and did not give up a walk.
Wood Ducks 6, Cards 4
HUMBOLDT – The Cardinals took a two run loss to the Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks on Sunday evening. Final score was 6-4. Stats were unavailable for the game.
