Burshiem eighth; Bushkofsky 16th at State B golf

BROOKINGS – Flandreau Flier Madison Bushkofsky and Flandreau Indians’ Kaden Burshiem closed out their high school careers placing at the South Dakota High School Activities Association’s Class B girls and boys state golf meets.
The meets were held Monday and Tuesday, June 1 & 2.
The girls played at Edgebrook where Bushkofsky came in 16th from the field of 103 golfers. She golfed rounds of 88 on Monday and improved that to an 80 on Tuesday.
Colman-Egan’s freshman Mauryn Landis came in tied at 52nd place with a score of 193.
Brynn Roehrich of Clark/Willow was the state medalist for the girls with a 141. Her Cyclones also won the team title combining for 481 to edge Dell Rapids St. Mary’s 483.
Burshiem’s eighth place resulted from a three-way tie for with Drake Mueller of Faulkton Area and Larz Tvedt of Wolsey-Wessington, all firing a 153 over the 36 holes.
The FIS senior shot three over par 75 oon Monday and then fell to six over on Tuesday with his 78.
Flier freshmen Hunter Bushkofsky placed 42 from the field of 141 golfers. He fired rounds of 80 and 83 to score a 163.
The boys played at Brookings Country Club. Medalist honors went to Adian Abraham of Hamlin with a 146. The team championship was taken by BonHomme with a score of 472.
No Moody County school had enough players to qualify for a team title.
