Trail Life Troop 5511, Brookings South Dakota, went canoeing down the Big Sioux River, last weekend May 29 and 30.
“Trail Life is a Christian organization that believes the Bible is the inherent word of God and wants to teach boys to be strong men, who lead by example, and aren’t afraid to boldly claim Christ,” said Troopmaster Craig Ysbrand.
The boys launched from Egan and paddled down the river to Trent.
The Troop gives special thanks to Lee Johanson for allowing the troop to stay overnight on his land.
“These boys had a blast going down his river rapids and enjoying big fires by the river, said Ysbrand.
“The boys must have dragged those canoes across land upstream 50 times just so they could go down the rapids,” he noted.
In all they spent a couple of days outside enjoying South Dakota nature.
