Season ends splitting games over two days

Colman-Egan’s softball season came to a close at the end of the regular season. The Hawks, with a record of 6-14 and do not advance to the SoDak 16 this week.

Hawks 12, Dragons 10
COLMAN – Colman-Egan and Garretson both had hot bats combining for 25 hits, and the Hawks came away with a 12-10 win on Tuesday.
The Hawks held a 6-1 lead after two innings and after four, they led 10-4 after which the Blue Dragons got six runs in the fifth to tie the game. In the bottom half of that inning, the Hawks scored twice and held on for the win.
Maebe Groos had two doubles along with two base hits from Kinley Geigle, Chloe Schmidt and Sadie McCorkle. Earning a triple was Chloe Bryan who batted 3 for 4.
Chloe Schmidt was the winning pitcher surrendering only two hits and no runs. Harper Mousel also pitched and gave up 11 hits and nine runs and striking out seven.

Cossacks 10, Hawks 6
VOLGA – The Sioux Valley Cossacks got the better of Colman-Egan on Wednesday in Volga winning 10-6 and closed out the Hawks regular season.
The Hawks’ late game comeback scoring six in the final two innings was not enough.
At the plate, Kinley Geigle, Brianne Bowen, Chloe Bryan and Chloe Schmidt all doubled. Bowen made two RBI.
Schmidt took the pitching loss hurling all six innings allowing 15 hits, 10 runs while striking out 10 of the 35 Cossacks she faced.
