It’s dry and dusty out

High winds this past week kicked up plenty of dust across recently planted fields in the Egan area, creating hazy scenes for drivers and residents across Moody County. Farmers have taken advantage of an unusually dry spring, with many already finishing planting well ahead of schedule. But now, many are hoping rains will help give those early crops a healthy start to the growing season. Sunday afternoon, some in the county received about a .25” and rain also fell on Monday, but we’ll need far more than that to replenish the soil.
