The Flandreau high school baseball team was busy on the road last week playing three games and finished the week with a 1-2 mark.
MADISON – The Bulldogs out hit the Fliers eight to five and took advantage of four Flier errors in their six inning 11-1 win over Flandreau on Tuesday, April 28.
Tyton Peters took the mound loss. He threw five innings giving up six hits, seven runs and three walks. Peters struck out two. Coming in relief was Brody Johnson who gave up a pair of hits and five runs.
Jadon Eng led the Fliers at the plate with two hits in three at bats. Griffin Hemmer batted out a double. Peters walked twice.
CLEAR LAKE – The Fliers needed a win and took one easily over the Deuel Cardinals on Wednesday, 19-3. The Fliers fired off 21 hits in the win including an over the fence strike by Xavier Bien and doubles by Alex Poitra, Tucker Hemmer and Brody Johnson. Bien made four RBI to lead the Fliers and batted 4 for 5 as did Poitra.
Trevor Peters earned the pitching win giving up no hits and striking out four. Tate Hammer pitched three innings allowing three hits but fanned eight Cardinals.
SIOUX FALLS – The Fliers couldn’t get the bats going Saturday evening and were shut out in all ways by the Clark Dinosaurs in a 15-0 drubbing.
No Flier reached a base. Tate Hammer and Trevor Peters were the Flier pitchers.
Flandreau is at Elkton on Wednesday and then head to Milbank Saturday for a double header.
