Playing in back to back days, the Hawks fell three times on the softball diamond dropping games to Chester on Wednesday and Elkton-Lake Benton and Garretson on Thursday. The losses drop their season record to 0-5.
Vs. Chester
CHESTER – Final score against the Flyers was 12-3. The Hawks’ three runs were made by Harper Mousel, Sarah Voelker and Brianne Bowen crossing the plate.
Mousel and Bowen had extra base hits each earning an RBI. Mousel had a “round the bases” hit and Bowen tripled. Chloe Schmidt was 2 for 3 at the plate, both singles.
Schmidt took the loss from the pitcher’s circle throwing four innings and facing 31 batters. Her struggles were many as she only struck out two batters, allowed 12 walks and gave up one home run.
The Hawks did see the ball well with only four strike outs.
Triangular at Elkton
ELKTON – Full stats were not available for a triangular held in Elkton Thursday. Elkton-Lake Benton won 9-8 and Garretson won 9-8.
This week the team was to host Deubrook on Monday and then Flandreau on Friday. Game times are 5 p.m.
