CHESTER – The Colman-Egan girls track and field team took third and boys placed seventh at the Chester Invitational held Tuesday, April 14.
Dell Rapids St. Mary took both team titles with the boys scoring 153 points and the girls, 119.
Hawk boys scored 52 points while the girls added up to 113.
Top Hawk place finishers were three of the five relays in the girls division. The team of Avery Baumberger, Finley Luze, Brynlee Landis and Crystal Silva-Dominguez were first in the 4×100 (52.08) and winning 4×200 members were Baumber, Anya Hemmer, Luze and Landis (1:52.88)
The medley relay team of Jolie Flatten, Caylee LeBrun, Baumberger and Landis won in a time of 4:34.17.
In the field events, Michoen Williamson won the shot put heaving it 36’5.5” and Baumberge leaped to a winning long jump at 15’8”.
Top place winner for the boys was Caden Zwart with his high jump of 6’0”.

MENNO – The Lady Hawks got in the championship way with a team title and seven event wins at the Menno Relays Thursday.
The girls team scored 268 points outlasting the nearest competitor by 60 points (Arlington) while the boys team came in fifth (127) behind Freeman’s 279, Scotland/Menno’s 229, Sioux Falls Lutheran’s 184 and Hanson’ 178.
Jolie Flatten picked up four titles and Avery Baumberger, three in the day’s work.
Individual first place wins were made by Baumberger in long jump at 15’5”, Emmalyn Pickard in discus with a throw of 98’7”, Michoen Williamson in shot heaving it 34’10.5” and a pair of sprint wins by Jolie Flatten, 100 12.88 and 400 at 1:00.65.
The girls picked up a couple relay medals as well winning the 4×100 with the team of Baumberger, Finley Luze, Silva-Dominguez and Flatten in a time of 52.54 and the 4×200 in a time of 1:49.33. Team members were Baumberger, Luze, Brynlee Landis and Flatten.
In the boys’ division, the highest place of the day came from Caden Zwart at 5’10” taking second in the high jump.
