FLANDREAU – The Flier girls softball team opened up the home schedule with a huge win over Kingsbury County last Thursday, 22-7 in a three inning game. The Fliers pounded out 16 runs in the second inning sealing the win.
Aly Schepel earned the win on the mound with five strikeouts and six walks.
Leading the Fliers at the plate was Ady Krull swatting out a triple and two singles with three RBI. She was matched by Rylee Allen’s three singles and three RBI and Schepel also batted in a trio of RBI.
Nora Hamilton was patient at the plate with three walks scoring three runs.
Flandreau put together their 22 runs off 13 hits and nine walks while stealing eight bases in 22 at bats over the three innings.
McCloud took the loss for Kingsbury County.
Monday, the 3-0 Fliers were to be at Elkton-Lake Benton with the game played in Lake Benton. Friday, they host Castlewood at 4 p.m. in Flandreau City Park.
