Eagles drop Hawks

COLMAN – Colman-Egan’s boys basketball team lost to Sioux Falls Lutheran on Friday, February 27 on the Hawk court, 56-38, closing out regular season action.
The Eagles came out firing 18 first quarter points holding the Hawks to only eight. SFL added 20 second quarter points placing the score at 38-18 by halftime. The Hawks won quarter number three, 13-8, but the Eagles tallied more than C-E in the final quarter, 10-7.
Hawk Caden Zwart was the team’s lone player in double figure scoring with 17 points leading all scorers. He also made five rebounds. Logan Claflin led off the glass with six. Julian Allen dished out three assists.
The Eagles scoring came from Kade Matthews with 14 points, Sam Borg with 11 and Drew Knoblach, 10.
Colman-Egan shot 34 percent to the Eagles 44 and also were outrebounded 33-23.
The Hawks head to Region 3B play as the 8th seed hosting the #9 Flandreau Indians. Winner advances to play the top seeded team, Bridgewater-Emery on Thursday.
