HARTFORD – Flandreau took a season ending loss to the West Central Lady Trojans on Thursday, Feb. 19 on the Trojan court, 49-34.
West Central, who moved their record to 16-4 with the win, will be the top seed in Region 3A.
Flandreau closed out the regular season at 12-8 and were to open Region 3A play on Tuesday, Feb. 24 as the third seed taking on Baltic. Winner will play either #2 Dell Rapids or #7 Madison on Thursday.
Against the Trojans, the Flier were outdone in each quarter’s scoring, 13-9, 10-14, 11-13 and 5-9.
They shot 31.7% to the Trojans’ 43, while West Central was 5 for 5 in free throw and the Fliers were 6 of 13. The Fliers did win the rebound game, 29-24.
Pacing the Flier effort was Morgan Sheppard with 19 points and eight rebounds. Addy Hammer received seven rebounds.
Flandreau won the JV contest and finished with a season record of 14-3. Final score was 37-34.
Rona Streitz scored 11 points with Tenley LeBrun putting in eight and Charley Henderson six points.
There was also a C-game with West Central defeating Flandreau, 55-10. Molly Kelm made five points and Harper Pearson, four for the Fliers. The C-team closed the season at 0-4.
