No problem in win over Vermillion

VOLGA – Flandreau’s girls basketball participated in the Sioux Valley Roundball Classic in Volga on Saturday facing Vermillion and cruised easily to a 56-18 win.
Flandreau never had any trouble with the Tanagers jumping out to an 11-4 lead after one quarter, before dumping in 31 second quarter points to seal the win. They led at the half 42-9. Flandreau outscored the Tanagers 9 to 5 in the third quarter and 5 to 4 in the final frame.
Morgan Sheppard had 13 points and eight rebounds. Rhegan Sheppard added 11 and Aly Schepel scored 10 for the Fliers. Addy Hammer gave out six assists. Flandreau out rebounded Vermillion, 23-13 and shot 49 percent from the field while holding Vermillion to 16 percent.
