Boys take two losses to top ranked teams
COLMAN – A pair of doubleheaders was held at the Colman-Egan School last week.
The girls won using big numbers while the boys took a pair of losses including to number two Class B Castlewood and number three DeSmet. The Hawk girls are currently ranked fifth in Class B girls polls and have a season mark of 13-0 for Coach Josh Flatten.

Stats were not available but the girls won, 71-37.
Boys vs. Castlewood
The Hawks could not contain the Warriors and lost 61-33. The visitors outscored the hosts, 16-7, 12-11, 22019 and 11-5 in each of the quarters.
Colman-Egan shot 35 percent on the night and made 19 turnovers. The effort was led by Caden Zwart with 17 points and Westyn Pearson with six boards.
Castlewood’s top scoring came from Kamden Keszler with 17, Will Aderhold and Brody Bass with 14 each and Tyson Manley with 10 points.
Girls vs. DeSmet
Final score was 64-46 for the 13 straight Colman-Egan girls win with no losses. No stats were available for this game.
Boys vs. DeSmet
In the second straight game against a top three Class B opponent, the Hawks were downed by DeSmet, 63-27.
The Bulldogs won all quarter stops, 17-4, 39-14, 50-23 and 63-27.
The Hawks shot a cool 25 percent from the field to DeSmet’s 41. They were outrebounded 46-20.
Leading the Hawks in shooting was Caden Zwart with 20 points. He also had six rebounds. Rowdy Bowen made three assists.
The Bulldogs used four players in double digits, Tory Holland with 19, Trace Van Regenmorter with 14, Slayten Wilkinson with 12 and Noah Luethmers with 10. Holland also swiped down 23 rebounds.
The Colman-Egan boys now have a season record of 5-8.
The boys were to face Chester Area on Monday and then faced 11-2 Estelline-Hendricks on Friday. Next week, they are at Howard on Tuesday.
The girls team was to host Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday, head to Freeman on Saturday and then to Howard next Tuesday.
