Audiences laughed their way through the Crystal Theatres fall musical this past weekend as local performers brought Little Shop of Horrors to life with humor, heart, and plenty of doo-wop.
A full cast of volunteer actors, directors, stagehands, musicians, and lighting and audio technicians spent months preparing the production a longtime fan favorite based on the 1980s screenplay. The work paid off with a full slate of performances, including evening shows and well-attended matinees on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Crystal Theatre alternates each year between a more adult-focused musical and one highlighting local youth. This years cast leaned into the campy horror-comedy, delivering laughs from start to finish as the mysterious, man-eating plant Audrey II took over a Skid Row flower shop.
Directors and cast members said they were thrilled by the turnout and the enthusiasm from the crowd all weekend long.
