EMERY Colman-Egan took down Class B 5th rated Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday, October 14 in three straight sets.
Final scores were 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.
Nine Hawks got in the books for their efforts.
Brynlee Landis led the way amassing 19 kills and 10 digs.
She was followed by Caelee LeBruns 10 kills and 11 digs. She also had two blocks as did Michoen Williamson, Finley Luze and Mya Reiff.
Luze also made 24 set assists and had two aces along with Hailey Voelker. Harper Mousel had eight sets, and Mauryn Landis and Kinley Geigle both had nine digs.
COLMAN Colman-Egan found no problems defeating Oldham-Ramona-Rutand on Thursday night on the Hawk court in sets of 25-10, 25-25 and 25-12 to move their record to 16-3 on the year and 7-0 in the Dakota Valley Conference.
Luze had 19 set assists, seven kills and served two aces. Landis led with the Hawks with 16 kills at the net.
LeBrun brought up six digs and along with Williamson, put down seven kills. Reiff had two blocks, one solo and one combined with Abby Eppe.
Tuesday, the Hawks were to host Deubrook Area, travel to Garretson on Thursday and then close out the regular season at home hosting Dell Rapids St. Mary on October 28.
Dakota Valley Conference Tourney
COLMAN With a 2-2 record on the day, Colman-Egan finished third in the Dakota Valley Conference volleyball tournament held in the schools gyms.
Estelline-Hendricks, the eventual champions, defeated Colman-Egan in the opening game winning 29-27, 23-25 and 25-19.
Finley Luze had 11 sets and nine digs and Harper Mousel had nine sets.
At the net, Caelee LeBrun and Brynlee Landis both put down 11 kills to lead the Hawks and Michoen Williamson was a part of five blocks. LeBrun also had 14 digs to lead her team.
The Hawks regrouped and quickly won over DeSmet 25-8 and 25-21. They were led by Mousels 15 set assists, LeBrun with six kills and Landis with six digs.
In the next game, they fell to Castlewood, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-23. Digs were plentiful as LeBrun had 17 and Brynlee Landis and Mauryn Landis both had 12. Mousel had 10 assists and Kinley Geigle had nine.
Brynlee Landis made five blocks. And Abby Eppe and Williamson both had three.
In the last match with Dell Rapids St. Mary, the Hawks dropped the first set but then took the next two, 19-25, 25-12 and 25-22 to finish third.
LeBrun served up three, and Mousel two, aces. Mousel also had 10 sets.
Eppe had a hand in five blocks, and Williamson, four. Landis and LeBrun made seven digs each.
Estelline-Hendricks had a 3-1 record on the day. Taking second also at 3-1 was Castlewood. St. Mary was fourth and DeSmet finished fifth.
