Monday marked the final day of the official camping season and the last day restrooms were open at Flandreaus City Park.
The 2025 season was a busy one. Families, campers, and ballplayers filled the shaded grounds all summer long, taking advantage of the playgrounds and ballfields that lie beneath the canopy of old trees east edge of town.
Despite frequent rains that kept the Big Sioux River running high, the park avoided any major flooding this season.
City crews will begin winterizing facilities this week. Among the park improvements this year were a new scoreboard for one of the youth fields and repairs to several of the parks historic features. More updates and activity are already planned for the coming year, continuing the citys efforts to preserve and enhance one of its most beloved community spaces.
