Huskies too much for Fliers

FLANDREAU Class 11B no. 1 ranked Elk Point-Jefferson came to Tiger McGlone Field and left with a 43-6 win over the Flandreau Fliers.
The Flier effort calculated to 131 yards of offense against the physical Huskies.
At quarterback, Xavier Bien completed two of nine passes for 26 yards with a touchdown and threw an interception.
Receiving the passes were Tate Hammer for a 32 yard touchdown and Justin Klein for four yards.
Late in the game, Hammer took the quarterback position and found both Jake Hamilton for 14 yards and Gabe Frias for 18 yard receptions.
On the ground, the Fliers were led by Justin Klein with 10 carries for 24 yards, Alex Poitra with three carries gaining 16 yards and Hammer rushed once for 23 yards.
On defense, Kody Kneebone got in double figures with 11 tackles including a tackle for loss, Hammer had eight tackles and broke up two Husky passes and Klein made seven tackles.
Elk PoInt scored on touchdown runs of one, five and two seven yard scores and also completed an 81 yard pass play to score.
Friday the Fliers, now 1-6, celebrates parent night when they host the 2-5 Beresford Watchdogs.
