Soybeans rolling out, record corn on deck

Expect some extra dust in the air over the next few weeks as farmers kick into high gear on fall harvest. Warm, dry, and breezy days are giving the green light for fieldwork.
Soybeans are already coming out fast across the region.
Corn is next and if USDA predictions hold, it could be a record crop. The agencys September Crop Production Report points to record supplies nationwide and strong export demand. Some analysts say this years U.S. corn harvest could rival the biggest since the 1930s.
For now, the weather is cooperating. The extended forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with daytime highs in the low to mid-80s, nights around 60, and steady south-to-southeast winds between 5 and 15 mph. Rain chances stay moderate later in the week, but otherwise, the outlook through much of October looks to be dry. Thats welcome news after a soggy summer fields should stay accessible and combines should keep rolling.
