Fliers host fiesty Baltic squad

FLANDREAU A hard hitting Baltic squad was too much for the Flandreau volleyball team on their home court last Thursday. The Bulldogs swept the Fliers 3-0 in scores of 13-25, 14-25 and 10-25.
Receiving the serves was Addy Hammer with 36 and Ella Hoffman with 35. Nora Hamilton and Aly Schepel both had three assists and Hoffman and Hannah Krull spiked down five and two kills respectively.
Krull had three blocks and Lily Arnold had the lone ace serve.

LAKE PRESTON Flandreau lost to DeSmet but defeated Iroquois/Lake Preston and Waverly-South Shore at the annual Lake Preston Tourney on Saturday.
Vs. DeSmet.
Nora Hamilton had four ace serves and five set assists, but the Fliers lost in two sets.
Addy Hammer had 13 digs, Aly Schepel had 10 and four assists. Ella Hoffman, Rhegan Sheppard and Schepel, all had two kills. With a block each were Hannah Krull and Sheppard
Vs. Iroquois/Lake Preston
The Flier won over I/LP in two sets. Hammer and Schepel had 19 digs each. Krull had four kills, Hoffman and Elaina Bushkofsky had three and setting them up were Hamilton with five and Schepel with two assists. At the net, Bushkofsky had two blocks. From the service line, Hammer and Hoffman both had a pair of aces.
Vs. Waverly-South Shore
Again, Hamilton excelled at the service line with four aces as the Fliers defeated Waverly-South Shore in two sets.
Hammer made 15 digs and Hamilton had six assists. Hoffman had five kills, Schepel had four and Krull, three along with the lone block in the game.
This week the Fliers are at McCook Central/Montrose and then host Dell Rapids on Thursday. The Quarriers are currently ranked first in Class A standings.
