Girls second at The Bank Invitational

MILBANK Flandreau senior Faith Wiese was the girls 5000 meter winner at The Bank Invite at Whetstone Creek Golf Course in Milbank as the Flier girls came in second place (39 points) in the team standings behind Red River and Breckenridge/Wahpeton who both scored 34 points.
Wieses medal winning time was 17:40.02 which was about 20 seconds faster than she ran the course last year.
Next in the chute was Calla Wiese with a fourth place time of 20:10.03, followed by Kiley Westberrys 16th place finish in a time of 21:23.78. Tenley LeBrun finished 23rd for the Fliers girls with a time of 22:12.71.
Top Flier boys team runner was Logan Kontz coming in 14th. His time was 18:17.94. Sam Schmidt turned in a 17th place time of 18:21.24.
Wyatt Kontz was 48th, Nate Hobbie was 53rd and Franklin Donis-Castillo came in 57th to round out the Fliers squad. The boys team finished ninth. Red River won with 41 points.
Dylan Gerdes of Madison won the race in 16:31.23.
For the JV runners, Isabel Kulm broke the top 25 with a time of 21:11.72 and Creighton Arnett was 27th for the boys with a time of 17:26.79. Both races were 4000 meters.
