Girls pick up first win at Henry; fall to Madison

Flandreau was on the road for two volleyball games over the week.
The team lost to Madison on Thursday, August 28 and then picked up a five set win at Florence/Henry on Tuesday.

MADISON A tall quick Madison squad halted the Fliers in three sets, 9-25, 16-25, 16-25.
Addy Hammer had nine digs and along with Aly Schepel, they both had six kills.
Ella Hoffman made seven digs and had one service ace and Nora Hamilton put up 10 assists.
Schepel and Hannah Krull each had a block.

HENRY The Fliers picked up their first win of the season in a 3-2 battle with Florence-Henry on Tuesday.
The Falcons took the first and third sets but the Fliers won the others winning set four in high scoring fashion forcing a fifth set. Scores were 21-25, 25-20, 21-25, 29-27 and 15-11.
The team was full of aces on the night with Nora Hamilton serving up four and two each came from five other players.
Lily Arnold amassed 29 digs, Aly Schepel had 16 and Addy Hammer had 13.
Hamilton also put up the sets having 19 assists and Schepel had 10 set assists.
Ella Hoffman was big at the net with 12 kills and Hannah Krull added eight along with six each from Hammer and Schepel.
On defense, Krull blocked two Falcon kill attempts.
Saturday, the Fliers host their annual Alpha IV contest. Other teams here will be Flandreau Indians, Clark/Willow Lake and Oldham-Ramona-Rutland.Action starts at 9 a.m.
