Two Flandreau High School athletes were among several South Dakota wrestlers who competed in the 2025 AAU Scholastic Duals in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in late June and came home with great results.
The South Dakota male wrestlers were divided into three teams, White, Red and Blue. There was also a girls team.
Teague Bergjord and Gabe Frias were members of the South Dakota Red National team. As a team, they placed 13th from 43 teams. This team was comprised of wrestlers who had not placed at the 2025 State tourney.
Both Bergjord and Frias were named All Americans.
Bergjord, at 120 pounds, took bronze finishing 9-2.
Frias, at 126 pounds, took copper finishing 8-3.
Flier Head Wrestling Coach Cody Chamblin was the coach of the SD Blue team, which were wrestlers who placed at a state tournament this spring. This team placed 10th overall and had one All American, Tyler Woodring of Tea Area, who went undefeated at 12-0. Two other wrestlers were undefeated until injuries stopped further advancement, Grayden Timm of Aberdeen, 6-0, and Gage Jodozi of Parkston, 7-0.
