Flandreaus Cardinals won two of three games last week, all in Cornbelt League play.
They defeated the Salem Cubs, 3-1, lost to Dell Rapids PBR 5-3, and then won over the Colman As, 14-4.
Flandreau 3, Salem 1
FLANDREAU The Cardinals defeated the Salem Cubs in a 7 inning affair, Tuesday, July 8 on the Cardinal Field. Final scored was 3-1.
It was a low hitting affair. The Cardinals had five and the Cubs, four.
The Cardinals got on the board in the bottom of the third with three runs scored and then only allowed the Cubs a lone run in the top of the fourth.
Keith Cutler had two RBI from two hits. Bret Severtson and Jacob Patterson both doubled for the Cardinals. Patterson had the other RBI.
Jacoby Anderson earned the win for the Cardinals giving up the four Cub hits and one run in the 22 batters he faced. Severtson pitched to the final three outs to end the contest.
PBR 5, Flandreau 3
DELL RAPIDS PBR got the best of the Cardinals on Thursday coming out on top, 5-3, scoring all their runs in the first inning.
In four innings of work, Drew Weber suffered the loss giving up all five runs from seven hits. He walked four and fanned two. Curt Anderson pitched the final four innings and walked one and struck out two.
All Cardinal hits were singles. Austin Koening and Beau Severtson both had two. Noel Burgos, Grant Hieb, Keith Cutler all had one.
Flandreau 14, Colman 4
FLANDREAU The Cardinals closed out the weeks work with a win over the Colman As on Sunday, 14-4 in seven innings.
The Cardinals collected 14 hits-seven doubles. Keith Cutler batted 3-for-4 with two doubles. Other two base hits came from JaColby Anderson, Curt Anderson, Beau Severtson, Jacob Patterson and Austin Koenig.
Patterson and Anderson each had three RBI.
Bret Severtson pitched the win throwing seven innings. He allowed all 10 As hits and three runs while fanning five batters.
The Cardinals with a season record of 9-9 host the 8-10 Flandreau Blue Teal on Friday evening in the final regular season game. District 4B starts July 25 in Madison.
