Youll see Blue & White in Egan

With a parade, live music and plenty of food, the Egan All-School Reunion and Bridge Days will offer three days of fun for everyone. The events will be held June 27 through June 29 so dig out your Egan attire or dress in blue and white.
The Egan All-School Reunion is held every five years but was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 Pandemic meaning some of these folks havent seen each other for 10 years now.

Heres a schedule of events:
Friday, June 27
6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. – The Big Red Rawkit Riot Band will be playing at BlueJays in Egan. Alumni can pick up their shirts and meal tickets that night.

Saturday, June 28
9 a.m. -Roaming Grounds, a Dell Rapids coffee truck will start serving. If you need sweets to go with your coffee, the Ladies Cemetery Association will be serving bars, rolls and cookies in the senior center before and during the parade.
10 a.m.- The parade will start at the former school building and go down Main Street. A Vanguard Fly-Over will occur prior to the start. Leading the parade are the marshals, Bob Hemmer and Don Pederson, both from the Class of 1950.
The parade is open to Egan High School classes, individuals, businesses and organizations. So far there are about 30 entrants, and they are still being accepted. Call Bonnie Hemmer at 605-530-2184 or Tom Ehrichs at 605-864-8678. The parade portion is sponsored by the Egan American Legion Family.
10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.-The South Dakota State University ice cream truck and a barbecue food truck will start serving. BlueJays will have food all day long as well.
Noon to 4 p.m.-There will be a vendor fair in Gazebo Park on Main Street. Vendors can set up in the park before 9:30 a.m. or after 11 a.m. There will also be a show and shine on Main Street. No prizes will be awarded. Its a chance for drivers to show off their cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors or vintage vehicles. After the paradeBounce houses will be set up on Main Street.
Early afternoon-There will be kayak races starting at the F.C. Schroeder Memorial Bridge and ending at Zeth Stombaugh Park. For more information, contact Harvey Donley at 605-690-9494 or see the advertisement elsewhere in this issue.
6:30 p.m.-The Neo-Johnsons will play at BlueJays. This is another chance for alumni to pick up shirts and meal tickets.

Sunday, June 29
11 a.m.-Doors will open for the Egan All-School Reunion at the Colman-Egan School in Colman. All Egan graduates, former teachers and staff are invited. Prior to the meal there will be another chance for alumni to pick up shirts and meal tickets. After the meal, there will be a meeting. The meal will be served by BlueJays. Hemmer said there are more than 135 alumni signed up already. Pre-registration is required, however there will also be a limited number of meal tickets available on the day of the reunion. Those who simply wish to visit with the graduates of Egan can also stop by that day.
The oldest graduate who plans to attend is from the Class of 1948, Don Derdall.
