Lose to H/H Gamecocks; win over DR Mudcats

Four of the top six rated teams in the Class B amateur baseball standings all come from the Cornbelt League and the Flandreau Blue Teal faced two of them at the Blind on the Big Sioux in Flandreau City Park last week.
Flandreau lost to #5 rated Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks but took a big win over #3 rated Dell Rapids Mudcats.
The Blue Teal now have a 6-5 season record and will remain at home on Thursday hosting Canova Gang at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, they travel to Dell Rapids PBR.

Vs. Gamecocks
FLANDREAU The number five rated Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks showed up to play downing the Teal, 18-7. Eight late inning runs put them out of reach of the locals on Thursday, June 19.
The Gamecocks started the game with six runs, added two in the second, one each in the fourth and fifth innings and four each in the final two frames.
From the pitchers mound, Tash Lunday took the loss only throwing two innings. He allowed eight runs (6 earned runs) off six hits, walked three and struck out two. His reliever, Kolby Peters threw four innings with six runs (4 ER), six hits, struck out three and walked two. Mason Riley came in for the final frame and gave up four runs (2 ER) off one hits, walked four and struck out a lone Gamecock.
With the bat, the Blue Teal were outhit, 13-12. Lunday, Riley and Michael Witte all doubled with Riley batting 3-for-4 on the night. Tanner Christenson was the lone Blue Teal to receive a walk in the game.

Vs. Mudcats
Flandreau racked up 19 hits and only struck out two times against the short-handed Mudcats in an 18-5 thrashing run rulling the visitors in the fifth inning.
The Blue Teal began hot scoring seven runs in their first at bat. They added three more in the second inning, five in the third and three in the fourth.
All those runs came via a good day at the plate. Kolby Peters hit two doubles and a single for five RBI. Teammate Michael Witte batted 5-for-5, including an extra base hit, had an RBI and scored four runs. Tash Lunday had a double and scored four runs and Emmott Nathan batted in four RBI and was 3-for-4 at the plate.
Mason Riley had a double scoring two Blue Teal.
Nathan pitched all five innings allowing only four hits, five walks and striking out seven Mudcats.
