Kriech first at Baltic, third at White

Colman-Egan Hawk golfers took advantage of the warm weather early last week and competed in two meets. The season is winding down as this week, the teams will be in Regional action at Dell Rapids. The state meet is June 2-3 in Watertown.

At Deubrook Area
WHITE Colman-Egan girls came in runner-up and the boys team took third at the Dakota Valley Conference Golf Meet held at Six Mile Creek Golf Course.
The Hawks third place score was 263, not far behind Castlewood who scored the low of 256 to win the boys conference title. The Warriors just beat Elkton/Lake Benton with their 257 team scores.
DVC meet host Deubrook followed with 271 for fourth.
Those top three teams each had a top three golfer.
Castlewoods Davis Gales won medalist firing a 4 over par 76. The Elks Tanner Drietz shot an 81 for second.
Colman-Egans top golfer was Taylor Kriech who carded an 83 with rounds of 42 and 41 to place third.
Jack Whitehouse turned in scores of 44 and 45 to finish 10th and Holdyn Rentschler fired a 91 in rounds of 47 and 41 to round out the team scoring.
Also golfing for the Hawks was Landon Preheim.
Enroute to their second place finish, the Hawk girls team scored 302 points. Dell Rapids St. Mary was the team winner with 245.
The Hawks second place win just nicked Deubrooks 303 third place finish.
Savanna Schmidt and Mauryn Landis respectively finished seventh and eighth. Schmidt shot rounds of 46 and 47 and Landis fired a 51 and then a 46. Their third golfer Paityn Heiter came in 16th with a 112. Her scores were 58 and 54.
The fourth C-E golfer was Aspen Clark.
At Baltic
BALTIC The following day, which was another day of warm temps and southerly winds, the Hawks placed fifth at the Baltic Invite on the Northern Links Golf Course.
Taylor Kriech found his way to the boys medalist position shooting rounds of 35 and 40 for the low 75, three over par.
His teammate Jack Whitehouse fired an 89 shooting a 42 on the front nine and 47 on back. He placed 13th for the Hawks.
Their third golfer, Holdyn Rentschler golfed rounds of 51 and 48 for a 99.
Chester won the boys team title with the low of 244 followed by Dell Rapids St. Mary with 247 and Baltic with a 258.
The Hawks were fourth carding a team total of 263.
For the girls team, Mauryn Landis shot a 94 and Savanna Schmidt turned in a 97. Also on the golf team was Aspen Clark with a 107.
Chesters Jadyn McDonald had the hot clubs shooting a 1 under par, 71 to earn medalist.
The Hawks placed fifth with a 298 team score. DRSM won the invite with a 253.
