FLANDREAU Two games for Colman-Egan/Flandreau last week ended in a split decision. The team lost to Garretson but then defeated the McCook Central/Montrose Burros.
vs. Garretson
Flier Micah Otto batted 4-for-4 including two doubles and two singles, but it wasnt enough as Colman-Egan/ Flandreau lost to Garretson, 7-5.
Otto also had four RBI. The Fliers had eight team hits while Garretson batted out 11.
Xavier Bien hit a double and singles were recorded by Tucker Hemmer, Jadon Eng and Emmett Skroch
Otto also pitched six and two-third innings and gave up all 11 hits and seven runs.
vs. MCM
A 7-run bottom of the sixth gave the Fliers an 8-7 win over McCook Central/Montrose, Thursday, May 15.
Cam Flute was the winning pitcher throwing the final four innings. He only allowed two hits and one run and struck out four Burros over those innings.
Xavier Bien started the game, but only saw five batters before Tate Hammer came into the game. Hammer gave up five runs on four hits.
At the plate, Bien (3-for-4) and Tucker Hemmer each had doubles and Bien added two singles. Other Fliers hitting singles were Jadon Eng, Flute, Emmett Skroch and Micah Otto.
The Fliers, 5-8, are in Region 3B action on Tuesday, May 20 coming in as the eighth seed. Theyre matched with top seed Dell Rapids, 18-1. The game was to start at 3 p.m. pending weather conditions.
