Placed well at two area meets

The Hawks were on the track and in the field last week for two events on the road.

ESTELLINE The Hawk girls picked up eight first place finishes at the Estelline Sno-Bird meet held Thursday, April 10 while the boys won four events.
Colman-Egan won the girls portion with 316 team points and the Hawk boys came in third with 87. Great Plains Lutheran won the boys event with 270 points. Following the CE girls was Deuel with 147 points.
First place winners for the girls were four of the five relay teams and four in the individual events.
Crystal Silva-Dominguez won the 100 in 12.94 and Jolie Flatten took the 400 win a time of 1:02.78. Elaina Rhode won the long with her leap of 152.5 and Anna Zwart heaved the javelin 1041 to win that event.
In the relays, the Hawks took the 4×100 (Rhode, Anya Hemmer, Finley Luze, Silva) in 54 seconds flat. The foursome of Silva, Luze, Brynlee Landis and Flatte won the 4×200 meter relay, 1:51.34 and the 4×400 meter relay, 4:18.03. The medley relay was won by Maci Voelker, Quinn Meyer, Avery Baumberger and Presley Luze with their time of 4:57.01.
Sutton Bunde was a double winner for the boys team taking both the 800 (2:09.63) and the 1600 meter (4;56.55) races.
The foursome of Christopher Lee, Jackson Zwart, Jack Mousel and Jase Mousel were also two time winners taking the 4×100 (45.37) and 4×200 (1:35.15) relays.

GARRETSON Having prom the night before a track and field meet kept the upperclassmen away from the track on Saturday at the Jesse James Invitational in Garretson.
The meet was held under windy conditions.
Only two first places finishes were recorded by the Hawks in attendance.
The4x200 meter girls relay team of Anya Hemmer, Maci Voelker, Avery Baumberger and Crystal Silva-Dominguez raced to gold in 1:56.76 and Christ Lee took first for the boys in the 100 with his time of 11.21.
