Girls see season come to end in regional play

MADISON Colman-Egans chance to advance to the Class B SoDak16 came to an end at the Region 3B finals with a 57-48 loss to Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday, Feb. 27. The game was played on Madison High Schools court.
The Hawks were down by two after one quarter 13-11 and at the half, 28-22. In the third quarter, they only scored eight points to the Blackhawks 15 to set the score at 43-30 heading into the final frame. They won that quarter 16-14 but it wouldnt be enough.
Colman-Egans Brynlee Landis dumped in 21 points to pace her teams effort. She also had eight rebounds and three steals. Following her, Jolie Flatten made 11 points, three steals and Kaylee Voelker had 10 points.
Colman-Egan shot 34 percent in twos and 25 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Liz Boschee led all scorers with 25 points for SC/W and Addison Bartholow made 17.
The Hawks close the season with a respectable 19-3 record.
Earlier in the week, the Hawks, Region 3Bs top seed, won over Bridgewater-Emery, 60-39 to advance to the finals. No stats were made available for this game.
Seniors closing out their prep basketball career are Addy Geigle, Presley Luze, Elaina Rhode, Kaylee Voelker and Anna Zwart.
