City crews braved frigid temperatures this past week to assess and repair a water main break at the intersection of Bates Street and Third Avenue in Flandreau. While the city has made significant progress in replacing aging water and sewer pipes throughout the area in recent years, this section of town has not yet received the necessary upgrades.
Crews worked through the overnight hours to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and minimize any disruption for neighboring residents and businesses.
The frigid temperatures are expected to persist through early this week, but a warm-up is on the way, with significantly warmer weather forecast as we head toward the end of the month.
