FLANDREAU The Flier boys basketball team found no problems with the Madison Bulldogs last Friday on the Flier court. The home team won, 60-46.
We hit some shots early in the game that enabled us to get in a good flow offensively, said Head Coach Brendan Sheppard.
Alex Poitra came off the bench and gave us a good spark. We played a solid defensive game and had to deal with our first foul trouble of the year.
The Fliers had 23 personal fouls. Madison had 20.
Flandreau lead at all quarter stops, 13-11, 29-20, 16-31 and used 52 percent field goal shooting in the win. The Bulldogs shot 36 percent.
Three player put double digits scoring in the books.
Paul Parsley was on fire connecting on 11 points, swiping down 15 rebounds and gave away seven assists.
Junior Luke Sheppard led the Flier scoring with 16 points followed by Poitra with 13 (4-of-4 and 5-of-6 from the line).
Winning the rebound battle, 41 to 25, the Fliers also had 10 steals to the Bulldogs five.
Ben Brooks, a 69 Bulldog senior, led all scorers with 22 points.
Madison won the JV battle, 44-36. Poitra scored 16 and Jadon Eng added 11 points.
In the C game, Flandreau defeated Madison 36-22 behind Tucker Hemmers 15 points. Jake Hamilton and Tate Hammer both put in eight points.
