Girls open with win over Flyers

FLANDREAU The Flandreau Flier girls won the first three quarters on Thursday night and that allowed them to get a victory in their season and home opener.
Flandreau led 15-12 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 29-24 lead into halftime. The Fliers then extended their lead to 50-39 at the end of the third and that was enough of a cushion to get the win as each team scored 12 points in the final quarter.
Sadie Iott led Flandreau with 23 points, six assists and five rebounds. Morgan Sheppard had 18 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Hannah Krull had eight points and seven rebounds.
Chester was led by Emerson Eppard who had 23 points. Katelyn Schut had 13 points and Jacy Wolf had 10 points.
The JV team also won their opening game by a score of 31-23. Rona Streitz scored 14 points and Nora Hamilton, seven.
