HOWARD Ten Flier wrestlers participated in the annual Ken Ruml Invitational Wrestling Tournament and four came home place winners.
The team placed ninth with 70 points. Madison won the team title with 191.5 points.
In the 175 pound class Justin Klein faced Tate Tolsma of Mt. Vernon-Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney and was defeated 10-0 to place fourth. He went 3-2 for the day.
At 215 lbs. Karter Headrick lost 9-8 in the finals to Parkstons Gage Jodozi giving him a 3-1 days record.
Karter had two pins and then wrestled a 6-minute match which you dont see him in many times, said Chamblin. He wrestled a complete matchwrestling in every position very well just falling short.
Zach Pederson was third with his win over Alex Zwak of Madison, 7-0, in the finals with a record of 4-1 at 126 pounds.
Junior 120 pounder Teague Bergjord was fourth as he lost in the finals to Owen Bunde of Tri-Valley, 4-2. He finished with a 3-2 mark.
Chamblin said Bergjord was in a highly competitive class, but hes still wrestling at a high level.

Justin is a work horse and wrestling some great kidsyou can tell some kids want to stay away from him.

Wrestling the runner up from the Class A state championships last year, 150 lb. Asael (Garreau) has a lot of fight and determination and is making strides. He just has that lack of experience hurting him, but (hes) improving match by match.
Chamblin said his three newcomers from Colman-Egan are showing progress each match.
At 165, we had Hayden Pearson and Preston Meyer wrestling and these two kids have a motor and drive on them, but that also gets them in trouble sometimes, noted Chamblin
Both these guys are showing improvements each time on the mat, just needing to get some more time under their feet.
Dalin Billmeier still has a lot of learning yet, but hes a go getter.
Flandreau is at the Madison Invitational this Saturday before taking a holiday break. Theyll be back in action on January 3 when the girls team goes to the McCook Central/Montrose Invite. The boys team heads to Salem on January 4 for their portion of the invite.
