Hawks blowout Hitchcock-Tulare

TULARE Colman-Egan dropped Hitchcock-Tulare, 52-12 in the first round of the Class 9B football playoffs last Thursday, October 24. The Hawks took advantage of five Patriot turnovers.
The Hawks were seeded 10th and the Patriots were seventh.
Jackson Zwart scored three touchdowns coming via 10 and 52 yard passes from Jack Mousel and a four yard run.
Hayden Pearson scored twice on runs of 10 and 11 yards and Jack Mousel also scored twice running in from two and 25 yards out.
The Hawks took advantage of a bad punt snap that flew into the endzone and scored a safety. The 2-points conversions were scored by Pearson, Mousel (2) and Zwart.
Hitchcock-Tulare scored two rushing touchdowns.
Mousel was four of nine in passing and Zwart caught three passes for 64 yards. On the ground, Pearson rushed 18 times for 188 yards and Mousel had 10 carries for 89 yards.
Jack Mousel caught three passes for 43 yards.
The defense held the Patriots to less than 100 yards oon offense. Leading the tackles were Pearson with five; Rhyder Benhke with four and Clayton Bohlman, four with a fumble recovery. Zwart, Carson Voelker and Thomas Loehr each made three tackles. Jase Mousel had an interception and Zwart had two interceptions and a fumble recovery
After reseeding, the Hawks are now the number 10 seed and will head to Faulkton Area on Thursday to face the number two seeded Trojans.
