25 Days of Christmas Gift Giving for Veterans

The Egan American Legion Auxiliary is preparing for their fourth annual 25 Days of Christmas Gift Giving for Veterans.
Veterans at the VA Health Center in Sioux Falls, Riverview Healthcare Center, Edgewood Assisted Living and the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribes Long-Term Care Center in Flandreau will be remembered this Christmas.
Gifts will be collected on Sunday, November 3 and 17 at the Egan Methodist Church from 1:00-3:00 p. m. There will be soup and treats served at this time.
Gift ideas are socks (both regular and diabetic), towel sets, throws, personal care items, candies (both regular and sugar free) and clothing. This year veterans have requested soda/pop (Diet Pepsi in pony bottles, Diet Coke, Coke, and Mountain Dew). Snack ideas are individual packages of popped popcorn, crackers, microwave popcorn, and blue ranch Doritos.
Specific Christmas Wish Lists have been given and includes clothing with the following suggested items and sizes:
Long sleeved western shirt with snaps and sweatpants (size XL); Heavy Cardigan Sweater and thermal shirts (size L); Colored t-shirts (size M); White t-shirts (size L); Hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants (no elastic cuff size L); Nebraska Huskers and Minnesota Vikings clothing (size 2XL); Shirt and lounge pants (size XLT);
Short sleeve pullover shirt and sweatpants (size L); Long sleeve western shirt with snaps and sweatpants (no elastic cuff size XLT); Sweatpants and pullover shirts (size 3XLT); Shorts (3XLT); Sweatpants and pullover shirts (2XLT); T-shirts, shirts, pants and suspenders (size M), stocking cap and gloves, sweater Size M;
Carhart long sleeved shirts Size 3XL, Levis jeans 40 x 36; Womens flannel shirts size M, womens flannel pajama bottoms Size M, womens Wrangler jeans Size 30 x 34;
Coffee mugs with lids and Dollar General gift cards.
Local volunteers will wrap gifts on December 11 & 12. Gifts will be delivered to veterans on December 16.
