Janet Marie Lemme, 75, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away at Sanford Heart Hospital onMonday, October 21, 2024.
Janet Marie Eng was born onNovember 14, 1948, to Lawrence and Lillian (Knutson) Eng. She was raised in Flandreau, South Dakota, and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1966.
After graduation, Janet pursued further education at Pipestone Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She spent nine years working for Graff Motor Supply before becoming an accounting assistant at Best Business Products, where she worked for 32 years before retiring.
OnApril 24, 1999, Janet married Martin J. Lemme in Sioux Falls. The couple enjoyed many happy years together, spending time with friends and family.
Family and friends were everything to Janet. She cherished moments with her family and loved having lunch dates with friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved going for walks. Baking was another passion of hers, especially when it came to making cookies. One of Janet’s greatest joys was antique shopping, particularly when accompanied by friends. Janet was a devout Christian and embraced the Lutheran faith.
Janet is survived by her husband of 25 years, Martin Lemme of Sioux Falls; her brothers, Dale Eng of Flandreau, SD, and Glen (Carla) Eng of Sioux Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lillian Eng.
A visitation with family present will be held onSunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, downtown. A funeral service will occur at 10:00 AM onMonday, October 28, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD. Following the service, there will be a luncheon. Janet will be interred at Union Cemetery in Flandreau, South Dakota.
